Brian O’Rourke has being working in Outdoor Education for 20 years and believes passionately in the value of experiential and outdoor learning. He has been involved with a wide variety of programme in both theUKand overseas. In his current role is responsible for the development of programmes and the tutor staff and has helped to explicitly link the programmes to the government’s education policy, A Curriculum for Excellence. He has been the Chair of the Institute for Outdoor Learning Scotland, an organisation which is committed to encouraging participation in outdoor learning by developing quality, safety and opportunity in outdoor provision and supporting the good practice of those who work in the field.
