Adam has been working for Scottish Outdoor Education Centres since April 2011 and has been working in the outdoors as a tutor since finishing college in April 2009.
He is an experienced tutor and has spent the last years improving and developing his technical skills as well as his knowledge and understanding of an outdoors tutors role.
The highlights of being an outdoor tutor at the SOEC for Adam is that he gets a chance to work with a whole group of guests helping to develop them physically, mentally and socially as an individual and as part of a team. He enjoys the chance to help guests face fears and accomplish goals they didn’t think they could. He enjoys being a role model and someone that has the potential to help guests find new confidence in themselves.
His favourite moments in the outdoors have been doing his first lead climb and paddling rivers which made him very nervous at first.
He is a keen kayaker and climber and spends his spare time paddling down rivers and climbing.
